What we're about

Animal Protection and Rescue League is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which works to document and expose animal cruelty occurring behind closed doors, educates the public on animals issues through innovative outreach campaigns, and works with policymakers and politicians to implement humane change.

Since forming in 2003, APRL has garnered the attention of national and international media, influenced animal protection legislation, conducted numerous rescues of abused factory farmed animals, influenced cities to adopt humane solutions to wildlife management, and created a network of grassroots outreach volunteers.

Please join us for regular events like potlucks, speakers, film screenings, dining events, outreach and protests. For more information, please visit our website at http://www.aprl-socal.org

Whether you’re new to the issues or a longtime activist, AR2020 will keep you inspired, engaged, and connected. Join the action! The AR2020 platform will feature about fifty speakers in workshops and panel sessions with Q&A and other interactive elements. Those new to the issues are invited to join our beginners’ track with information about the plight of animals, vegan nutrition, and more. The track for seasoned activists will cover topics including effective activism, winning strategies, self-care, and discussions about the health of the movement. All are encouraged to take part in our networking events and special sessions to connect with each other. Networking Get connected! AR2020 will incorporate interesting ways for us to unwind and have fun together. Special sessions include film screening parties, lunchtime discussions (with cooking demos), and group events which give you the opportunity to introduce yourself and your animal companions at home. Interactive Sessions AR2020’s user-friendly platform allows for engaging interactive workshops so attendees can participate in thought-provoking discussions and Q&A with speakers. The platform also allows for meet-ups, one-on-one chats, and so much more. Virtual Exhibits The AR2020 virtual exhibit area will host your favorite animal rights organizations and cruelty-free vendors. Throughout the event, you’ll have the opportunity to virtually browse their merchandise, check out their featured video, and even chat live with a representative. ----- PROGRAM https://virtual.arconference.org/program The AR2020 program will officially begin on Friday evening, July 17 and will end Sunday evening, July 19. The structure of the program is designed to fulfill the needs of those who would like to learn about the issues as well as those seeking to enhance their activism and network with others in the movement. AR2020 will feature five general plenary sessions throughout the event where everyone joins together for inspirational and informative topics. Throughout the day, the program will offer two simultaneous tracks: one for those who wish to learn more about the plight of animals within society and another for activists who wish to enhance their knowledge of effective activism, self-care, and the health of the movement. In recognizing the heaviness of such social justice issues, AR2020 will incorporate engaging ways for us to unwind and have fun together. Special sessions will include film screening parties, lunchtime discussions (with cooking demos), and networking events which will provide you with an opportunity to introduce yourself and your animal companions at home! We encourage you to join us for this unique event so we can stay connected and remain strong for the animals. ----- ABOUT https://virtual.arconference.org/about The Animal Rights National Conference is the U.S. animal rights movement’s annual national conference. It is also the world’s largest and longest-running animal rights gathering, hailing back to 1981.

Vegan Outreach at The Outlets at Orange Followed by FREE Vegan Lunch

Help APRL spread the word about the benefits of a plant-based diet to patrons at Outlets at Orange, and get a free tasty vegan lunch, courtesy of APRL, for your efforts! Note: Please try to arrive no later than 3:15 pm. Also, please note your "yes" RSVP will preclude someone else from attending, so if you RSVP "yes" but later decide not to attend, please inform the host and change your RSVP as soon as possible. Leafletters estimate that for every 200 vegan leaflets distributed, one person goes vegan. That's 100 animals saved per year, or thousands over the course of a new vegan's life. Let's see if we can create 10 new vegans and save 25,000 animals! We'll educate passersby and hand out literature from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Then we'll hit a nearby vegan restaurant (within 12 miles of the Outlets) for lunch. Lunch is free for the first six people to RSVP! Don't miss this outreach event! Parking at The Outlets is free. By participating in this event, you agree to adhere to APRL's Expressive Activity Guidelines (http://tinyurl.com/3oaqcuq). Please read and abide by these guidelines.
