This week we’ll be exploring change / impermanence. It can be argued that impermanence is the natural order of things. But we often live our lives in denial of this fact, making choices as though things will stay the same. Why do we do this? What does this enable us to do, how does it protect us, and how does it hold us back?

As we age, as our circumstances shift, as we gain and lose loved ones, move from place to place, making peace with change is arguably imperative to happiness. And yet it's one of the hardest things to do. Some people are terrified of it, others embrace it with reckless abandon. How do we find a balance?

Our sessions follow a set structure:

Part 1: Grounding & greetings
Part 2: Introduction to key ideas around the session’s theme.
Part 3: Group discussion of theme, based on provocations/prompts
Part 4: Listening session. Anyone can share why they’re feeling shitty, no one offers advice in return (this is purely for sharing and listening).
Part 5: Gratitude exercise & social time

Half of each session is devoted to the listening session, independent of the theme, when anyone can share why they've been feeling shitty lately. It's an advice-free-zone, simply a place to share and to listen.

The event location is my private apartment in Russafa. I will share the exact location on RSVP. Please try your hardest to arrive 5-10 minutes early, so we can start without interruptions. Also, space is limited, so if you can no longer make it, please update your RSVP so others can join :)

Wishing you all the best,

Charley
