Welcome to the Arizona Board Games & Camping Meetup!
We absolutely adore gaming outside in beautiful Arizona and would love more people joining us. If you’re a board gamer, this might be the perfect group for you, whether you're already a seasoned camper or always wanted to camp but have not yet had the chance.
The games we love include light to medium strategy games, card games, cooperative games and some party games. Usually nothing more than a few hours, but if longer games are your jam I'm sure there will be others who are interested. Most of us focus on playing games, though some gamers choose to spend a portion of their time just relaxing in the great outdoors or enjoying other leisures like those described here.
We usually camp about 2.5 hours north of Phoenix on the Mogollon Rim. You don't need a truck or 4 wheel drive, so no worries there. We welcome tent camper and hammock lover alike. We've been camping on the Rim every summer for years now, so we have it pretty dialed in as far as the camping goes. Now we are looking for other folks who enjoy the hobby of board games and share a passion for the outdoors.

We’re a positive friendly group and ask everyone to come with a fun and helpful attitude. Group members considering signing-up for an event want to at least know the name and face of those they’re going to spend days with in the woods. Therefore, to participate in any of our outings, your Meetup profile must include your actual first name and a recognizable photograph of you (not a blurry shot or one where your face is micro in size).

Camping and Board Games in the Pines!
Mogollon Rim, Rim Road, Payson, AZ, USBig thanks to everyone who joined us in August. The trip was fantastic and we had so much fun! Big thanks to Riley for hitting it out of the park with the Fajitas! The games and group were a ton of fun. Everything hit the table from big 3 hour games, to hilarous party games to super thinky deduction games and plenty of hidden role games for those who love those. We are gearing up for the next camping and gaming trip right on the rim, north of Payson, Arizona. This trip is designed for people who already enjoy light-to-medium board games and want to spend a good chunk of the weekend playing them. Camping experience is a big plus, but not required.
Details:
We will head north on Thursday, October 15th to camp on the Mogollon Rim (not the Grand Canyon). We message everyone the exact location of where we are camping around noon on Thursday. We don't know ahead of time exactly where we are camping as the spots are first come first serve. You can message me (Susan) 480-295-9824 if you need assistance.You are welcome to join us for part of the trip or the full 4 days.
You don't need a SUV or 4 wheel drive to get to the spot. Any car will be fine. If you don't have camping gear, do not go out and spend a bunch of money. You can camp in your car or ask any of us and we can guide you to what will probably be best for you.Once we have the spot, we will post a pin in the event description and send it out directly to everyone who registers and pays. Everyone is required to share a cell phone number and email address so we can make sure you get the final location details the day of.
This is dispersed camping, so there are no restrooms, showers, running water, or electricity. We have good solutions for all of it, but if dispersed caming isn't for you we understand. We will
be having group meals for breakfasts and dinners, everyone is one their own for lunch, snacks, and beverages. Participation in group meals is optional.We will send the group meal details within a questionaire, that all campers need to submit. The questionaire and payment are due 2 weeks before the trip begins. The payment due includes a MANDATORY $20 fee per person to help with incidentals (bathroom supplies, propane, firewood, first aid kit, etc) PLUS a charge for the group meals you're joining in.
