- Lake Havasu, Lake Mohave, Colorado River, and LaughlinHavasu Riviera State Park, Lake Havasu City, AZ
I know that this is way in advance, but people keep asking about this trip so I thought I would put it out there now. In the fall we are going to paddle Lake Havasu, Lake Mohave, visit Laughlin, and tour the Colorado River. The plan is:
Monday, October 7: Drive up to Lake Havasu and paddle there for the day, then continue driving to Lake Mohave to set up camp.
Tuesday, October 8: Paddle Lake Mohave
Wednesday, October 9: Our campsite at Lake Mohave is only a few miles from downtown Laughlin. Laughlin River Tours runs a trip out of Laughlin where they take you in a jet boat up the Colorado River all the way to Lake Havasu, dock for a couple of hours so you have time to check out the bars, restaurants, and shops, and then bring you back. The total trip is about 6 hours, and the cost is $95. You can make reservations at: London Bridge Jet Boat Tour Lake Havasu NV | Laughlin River Tours. After returning to Laughlin, I was planning on hitting a casino and possibly going out to dinner before returning to the campsite. If you don't wish to do this, you are of course free to go on your own adventure Wednesday.
Thursday, October 10: Paddle Lake Mohave one more time.
Friday, October 11: pack up and leave.
CAMPING
We will be staying at Katherine's Landing, at the southern tip of Lake Mohave. Campsites will have concrete picnic tables, fire rings with cooking grills, modern restrooms, showers, with laundry facilities close by. The campgrounds cannot be reserved in advance, they are first come first serve, but the campgrounds are huge, and we are going after their prime season and during the week so we will not have any problems. The cost is $25 per night with two vehicles per campsite.CARPOOLING
Carpooling is encouraged to make it cheaper both for gas and also for camping. If you wish to offer a ride, or if you wish to jump in with someone else, please post that in the comment section below.PARKING:
We will meet at Havasu Riviera State Park in Lake Havasu City. There is a $15 fee per vehicle to enter the park.HOW TO FIND US:

Follow around the perimeter of the parking lot to the left until you come to a rectangular parking area jutting out due south. We will meet there (click on the map and hit "layers"). I drive a blue F-150 with a solid blue (no windows) camper shell.PADDLE CRAFT:
