Join us as we volunteer in person at the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC)! This is a monthly event where we sort donations of canned goods and bag produce from 12:30 - 2:30 pm in preparation for AFAC's weekly food distributions to low-income families in Arlington. AFAC is a long-time community partner of the Arlington Jaycees, so please help us support them. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, volunteers are encouraged to wear a mask.

Because of the limited number of people that can attend this event, if you sign up and find that you cannot make it, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP as soon as possible to allow wait-listed people to attend.

AFAC is located at 2708 South Nelson Street and Four Mile Run Drive in Shirlington. There is street parking available near the building although parking spots are limited so please arrive early. The Volunteer Entrance is the GRAY DOOR by the loading dock. Once inside, the volunteer sign-in station is ahead and to the right.

Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops) and must have your hair covered while bagging food. Masks are also encouraged but not required. You can bring a hat and mask from home or AFAC will provide masks and disposable hairnets.
