Volunteer for Douglas Park 4th of July Parade/Potluck

Volunteers are needed at the 41st Annual Douglas Park Civic Association Fourth of July Parade and Potluck in South Arlington! This event is both a volunteer opportunity and a great way to celebrate the 4th of July with your neighbors. Volunteer for an hour or two to help set up, tear down, grill some hot dogs or provide general event support. Jaycees are welcome to attend all of the events and enjoy the potluck.

The event will begin with a parade at Monroe Park (1330 S Monroe St) and end with the celebration at Douglas Park (1718 S Quincy St). Please be sure to note which park your volunteer shift is located.
Event Schedule:
10:00am – Bicycle decorating contest for kids with cash prizes (Monroe Park). Judges will be in search for the best parade floats, costumes, decorated bikes, and the coveted prize of Mr and Ms Douglas Park.
10:30am – Parade to Douglas Park, decorated floats and vintage cars welcome
11:00am-2:00pm – Live music, potluck, hot dogs, fire truck, bouncy house, water slide (Douglas Park)
12:00pm – Reading of the Declaration of Independence, a neighborhood tradition!
