Broadway Musical "Footloose" at Dreyfoos School of Arts
Details
IMPORTANT NOTE - See ticket information below.
Join us for the high-energy stage show "Footloose: The Musical" at Dreyfoos School of the Arts, one of the country's premier arts magnet high school. It tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager from Chicago who moves to a small, conservative farming town where dancing and rock music are banned. He rebels against this strict rule, falls for the minister's daughter, and helps the community heal from a past tragedy. The show
celebrates the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to one another, and
the power of forgiveness.
The Broadway production, adapted from the 1984 film of the same name, adds several
new songs to the bestselling Oscar-nominated score that introduced such mega
hits as such as "Footloose," "Let’s Hear It for the Boy," "Holding Out for a Hero," and "Almost Paradise." It capitalizes heavily on 1980s nostalgia.
TICKETS MUST BE ORDERED IN ADVANCE, $28. I'm handling this for our group. You'll
be on the Waitlist until you've paid. We'll have our own premier reserved seating in
the spacious 600-seat Meyer Hall. Message me or email me if you have any questions.
The school is one block north of Kravis Center and there's ample free parking in
its fenced-in lot. After the show, we can go for refreshments at a nearby restaurant.
This is a multi-group Meetup. Ours is sponsored by Walls R Us Painting.
