We offer Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy (MBAT), Art Therapy, and Mindfulness Sessions, for groups and individuals. Group sessions are held in central London and central Brighton. Individual sessions are face-to-face or via Skype. Sessions are suitable for adults, including those who have experienced mental health challenges.

'Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy: Theory & Practice weekend'

'Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy: Theory & Practice weekend' A creative and explorative weekend integrating therapeutic art-making, guided mindfulness practice, clinical case studies and theory. Although this is designed as a weekend workshop, you may prefer to attend just Saturday’s Intro day or Sunday’s Theory day. Please do email [masked] in you have any queries. Day one: Intro to Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy This introduction day includes: art making as a mindful activity, guided mindfulness practices, mindfulness of the body, compassion-focused practices and group reflection. During the day there will be opportunity for self-expression, exploring care for oneself and others, investigating your direct experience, and practising with others in a group context. You will be guided and supported during the workshop by the facilitator. You are welcome to attend whether you are a beginner or more experienced to either mindfulness and/or art making. Day Two: Theory and Practice This day is aimed at arts therapists and other related professionals who wish to have a deeper understanding of the theory and practice of MBAT. It is intended to support your exploration in integrating mindfulness at your workplace. The learning will take place through case studies, working groups divided into clinical areas, discussion and role play. The clinical areas to be explored will include mental health, children and learning disabilities. You will already have some understanding and experience in MBAT – at a minimum having attended one MBAT introductory day. Nicky Roland, is an experienced HCPC registered Art Therapist, and a trained mindfulness teacher, with several years work experience in the NHS, voluntary sector and in private practice. Art, Meditation and Compassion

The Dharma School

A creative and explorative workshop integrating therapeutic art making with guided meditation practices. We will be including the heart, feelings and emotions in meditation practice and promoting self-care and compassion. The session includes: mindful art making, mindfulness of the body and loving kindness practices and group reflection. You are welcome to attend if you are a beginner, or more experienced, to either meditation and/or art making. Art materials will be provided and you can also bring your own. Facilitator: Nicky Roland, Art Therapist and Mindfulness Teacher. Nicky has ten years of art therapy experience, working with adults in the NHS and voluntary sector and twelve years practicing meditation. She has a keen interest in the development of the integration of art therapy and mindfulness. Cost: This day is offered on a donation basis.
