THIS IS ONE OF OUR MOST REQUESTED EVENT VENUES!! I HIGHLY SUGGEST PURCHASING YOUR TICKETS ONLINE ASAP.

LET'S ALL GO BACK TO: The Museum of Broadway! On Saturday August 23rd from 11:00am - 1:30pm, let us all visit a very special museum right in the heart of New York City's theatre district, right next door to the Lyceum Theatre on West 45th Street. The Museum of Broadway thoroughly examines and reviews Broadway's history, starting in 1732 with the first documented performance in NYC. We will go backstage with your favorite Broadway stars to learn how a show is made. As we walk the timeline, we will come upon exhibits dedicated to groundbreaking moments in Broadway’s history - those that pushed creative boundaries, challenged social norms, and paved the way for those who would follow. The Museum of Broadway was designed by internationally renowned artists, designers, and theatre historians.

THE MUSEUM

The Museum of Broadway, on 145 West 45th Street in Times Square, is the first permanent museum dedicated to documenting the history and experience of Broadway theatre and its profound influence upon shaping Midtown Manhattan Times Square, and New York City. The museum covers more than 300 years of Broadway history, including costumes and props from more than 500 productions. The Museum of Broadway was founded by Julie Boardman and Diane Nicoletti in collaboration with Playbill, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the Billy Rose Theatre Division at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, Goodspeed Musicals, Creative Goods, and Concord Theatricals.

WHAT ARE WE SEEING?

We will start on the 3rd floor in 1732, and work our way downward, and forward in time to today's Broadway, with many exhibitions and interactive exhibits to view. Following a decade of planning for the museum as a means of bringing a new audience to Broadway amid an era of interactive museums, the museum opened on November 15, 2022. The 26,000-square-foot museum comprises three sections: The Map Room, featuring a short film that outlines the history of theater in New York and the location of the extant theatres. A Two-Floor Broadway timeline exhibit, and then there is the Making of a Broadway Show.

### SPECIAL EXHIBIT - Stages of Imagination

Stages of Imagination: The Iconic Broadway Designs of David Korins brings to life the creative process behind five epic productions: Hamilton, Beetlejuice, Dear Evan Hansen, The Who’s Tommy revival and Here Lies Love. Journey into the visionary world of Korins through iconic Broadway set models, original notes from Hamilton (aka the ‘Hamilton Mixtape’), the first sketch for Dear Evan Hansen and more! Exhibit admission is included with your museum entry ticket.
