## ✨ A VERY SPECIAL SATURDAY EXPERIENCE

Join us for a wonderful and meaningful visit to the Jackie Robinson Museum, where our Social Club has been granted a specially arranged Saturday curated tour.
The Museum does not normally offer these curated group experiences on Saturdays. After working directly with the Museum, their Curatorial Assistant has agreed to conduct a special tour for our group on Saturday, October 17th.
That makes this much more than a regular museum visit.
We will begin with a curated presentation of Jackie Robinson’s remarkable life, career, courage, and legacy — followed by time to continue exploring the Museum independently afterward.

## ⚾ WHO WAS JACKIE ROBINSON?

Jackie Robinson was far more than one of the greatest baseball players of the 20th century.
He was one of the most consequential figures in American history.
On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers and broke Major League Baseball’s modern color barrier.
That moment changed baseball forever.
But it also became a powerful symbol in the larger fight against segregation and racial discrimination in America.
Robinson’s achievement required far more than athletic ability. He faced enormous hostility, racism, threats, and pressure — while being asked to carry the expectations of millions of people who understood the significance of what he was doing.
And he succeeded.

## 🧢 THE BROOKLYN DODGERS & BRANCH RICKEY

Brooklyn Dodgers executive Branch Rickey knew that the player chosen to integrate Major League Baseball needed extraordinary talent, intelligence, courage, discipline, and character.
He chose Jackie Robinson.
Robinson went on to become:
⚾ Rookie of the Year
⚾ National League MVP
⚾ A six-time World Series participant
⚾ A member of the 1955 World Series Champion Brooklyn Dodgers
⚾ A member of the Baseball Hall of Fame
His iconic uniform number — 42 — was ultimately retired throughout Major League Baseball.
Today, every April 15th is celebrated as Jackie Robinson Day.

This is the part I am particularly excited about.
The Jackie Robinson Museum does not normally offer its curated tours on Saturdays.
However, the Museum’s Curatorial Assistant has specially agreed to conduct a Saturday tour for our Social Club.
That means our group will have an experience that ordinary weekend visitors generally do not receive.
And there is no additional charge to our members for the curated experience.
You pay only the Museum admission price.

## ⏰ OUR SCHEDULE

### 11:00 AM — Group Arrival

Please plan to arrive on time so our entire group is assembled and ready.

### 11:10 AM — Curated Tour Begins Promptly

Our curated portion must begin promptly because the Museum’s Community Day begins at Noon.

### After the Curated Tour

Members are welcome to remain in the Museum afterward and continue exploring the exhibitions at their own pace.

## ⚠️ PLEASE BE ON TIME

Because our Curatorial Assistant is making a special Saturday accommodation for us and the Museum has another program beginning at Noon, late arrivals may miss part or all of the curated tour.
Please give yourself plenty of travel time.
