## 🔪 A MURDER HAS TAKEN PLACE…

Step back in time to the 1820s for a private evening of mystery, history, strategy and suspense inside one of New York City’s oldest surviving buildings!
The historic Mount Vernon Hotel has become the scene of a fictional murder—and it will be up to our Social Club detectives to solve the crime!

### You will need to determine:

🔎 Who was the victim?
🩸 Who committed the murder?
🗝️ What method was used?
But be warned: the answers will not be handed to you!
Your team must search for clues hidden throughout the Museum’s historic rooms, carefully examine the evidence and use teamwork, critical thinking, strategy and historical knowledge to solve the mystery before the other detectives do!

# 🕯️ HOW THE MYSTERY WILL UNFOLD

Members will work in detective teams of no more than four people.
You may register individually and join a team when you arrive, or attend with friends and form your own team—provided that everyone participating is a registered member of our Social Club and has separately signed up for this event.
As you move through the Museum, volunteers stationed throughout the historic rooms will be available to answer questions and help guide the investigation.
Once your team believes it has solved the crime, you will submit your official answer sheet identifying:

• The murderer
• The victim
• The method used to commit the crime

Then, everyone will gather in the historic Tavern while the results are revealed!

Bragging rights are wonderful—but our best sleuths deserve something a little more tangible, too!

After working through the clues, our detectives will gather in the Tavern to compare theories, enjoy refreshments and await the final solution.
Our generous spread will include:

🍪 Something sweet to conclude the evening

# 🏛️ A PRIVATE EVENING IN OLD NEW YORK

This is not an ordinary museum tour.
It is an immersive private experience combining New York City history, a fictional 1820s murder, detective work, friendly competition, wine, food and the wonderfully atmospheric surroundings of the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum.
The mystery itself lasts approximately 90 minutes, followed by refreshments, conversation and the announcement of our successful detectives.
Members should arrive at 6:30 PM. The investigation will begin as close to 6:45 PM as possible, so please be prompt!

Because teams are limited to four detectives and the historic rooms cannot comfortably accommodate a large crowd, attendance is strictly limited to 20 Social Club members.
Every attendee must be a registered member of the New York City Art, Film, Museum, Social Club and must personally register for the event. A member may not bring an unregistered or nonmember guest.
Once all 20 places have been claimed, the investigation is closed!
