About us
Art Play Tokyo is a welcoming community for anyone who is curious about making art and exploring their creativity in a fun, relaxed, and open-minded way.
We believe that art doesn’t have to be perfect or serious to be meaningful. It can be playful, experimental, and simply a way to enjoy the process of creating. Through a variety of creative sessions and workshops, participants are encouraged to try new techniques, express themselves freely, and discover their own unique way of making.
In addition to hosting hands-on workshops, I also organize activities such as visits to art museums and galleries, creating opportunities to experience and be inspired by art in different ways.
Whether you’re a practicing artist or someone who simply wants to play with colors and make something for the first time, this group is for anyone who wants to embrace curiosity and enjoy the creative process. Bring your ideas—or just yourself—and come create, play, and explore where your imagination takes you.

Exhibition Visit: Lucie Rie – Elegant Vessels Fusing East and West
Location not specified yet# Join me for a relaxed visit to the Lucie Rie retrospective at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.
Lucie Rie (1902–1995) is widely regarded as one of the most influential ceramic artists of the 20th century. Born in Vienna and later based in London, her work is celebrated for its elegant forms, delicate lines, innovative glazes, and the beautiful balance between European modernism and East Asian ceramic traditions.
This exhibition, the first major retrospective of her work in Japan in nearly ten years, showcases pieces from across her career alongside works by artists who influenced or collaborated with her, offering insight into the cultural dialogue that shaped her practice.
The exhibition is also set within the stunning Art Deco interiors of the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum, creating a unique conversation between architecture and ceramics.
