What we’re about
Welcome! Let's explore the creative side of SLO County! We'll get together for art shows, gallery walks, museum exhibitions, cultural experiences, craft fairs, painting classes, or anything that delights our eyes and inspires our creative minds. 🤩
Your ideas are always welcome! Heard of an upcoming artsy event or show? Share it in Discussions or message the organizer, and we'll turn great ideas into group events.
This meetup has been dormant for a while, but the new organizer (since June 2025) is on a mission to bring it back to life with your help! So join us for an upcoming event — there's so much art and inspiration to discover, and you might meet a new friend or two! 😉

See all- Dana Adobe Cultural Center tour — a glimpse into early California historyDana Adobe Cultural Center, Nipomo, CA
Need a good reason to drive down to South County? Let's tour a historic 19th-century homestead in Nipomo!
The badass Captain William Dana from Boston made his way to California during the rancho era. He jumped through many hoops to marry his Mexican bride Maria Josefa and to receive Rancho Nipomo (modern-day Nipomo) as a Mexican land grant in 1837. He put the land to great use!
What's on the grounds:
- The restored 19th-century adobe house, with portraits, period furnishings, and clothing donated by the Dana family.
- Vineyard, blacksmith shop, original rancho tallow vat.
- Visitor center with exhibits on the history of the area.
- Last but not least: gorgeous scenery as the backdrop and the most peaceful atmosphere you can find. :)
The guided tour is $10 per person (self-guided tours are free, but exclude the adobe).
Given construction work on 101, please allow plenty of time for travel to arrive on time — the last tour of the day starts around 2 pm and the place closes at 3.
Also, please update your RSVP as soon as possible if your plans change.

- Santa Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center tourSanta Ynez Chumash Museum and Cultural Center, Santa Ynez, CA
This brand new museum is finally open! Let's immerse ourselves in Chumash culture, worldview, and creativity.
What's waiting for us there: stunning woven baskets, innovative tools, a cool tomol canoe, interactive displays and stories. And of course, we've got to check out the epic dome-shaped buildings designed by the renowned architect Johnpaul Jones, inspired by traditional Chumash homes. It can take up to 2 hours to see it all!
It's quite a drive from here to Santa Ynez (but worth it, I think!) If you'd like to carpool, comment under the event and coordinate with other interested folks.
Please allow sufficient time for travel — we should start touring no later than 3 pm if we want to see all the exhibits!
Tickets: $15 per adult (can be purchased online or onsite).

***** - Colors of Conservation art show — local landscapes by local artistsOctagon Barn Center, San Luis Obispo, CA
A group of local artists, the San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment (SLOPE), will be showing paintings of our cherished open spaces, ranch lands, and preserves. Originals and reprints will be on display and for sale. Also, look forward to artist demos, local wines, and more!
This is an annual event to benefit the Land Conservancy of SLO County, held at the historic Octagon Barn Center.
The exhibition happens over two days: Friday, Aug 8th 5-8pm and Saturday, Aug 9th 10am-4pm. I picked Saturday afternoon, but if you guys have a strong preference for Friday night, do let me know (comment under the event) and we can change the plan.
