Open Studios Art Tour
Details
It's that time of year when artists and crafters across the county welcome us into their creative spaces for the Open Studios Art Tour. Let's go see where magic happens!
Attending this event as a group can be challenging since studios are scattered all over the county, with few within walking distance of each other (unlike Art After Dark!) I did my best to select several artists whom we can visit in one or two locations, and whose work is worth a look (in my humble opinion).
Based on your energy and fitness level, you can choose to join us for the short tour (Part 1 only) or the longer adventure (Parts 1 and 2).
*** PART 1 ***
- Meet at 104 Twin Ridge Dr, SLO to see 5 artists in one space:
Jim Tyler - landscape painting (#69 in the event catalog, we met him at the Octagon Barn event!)
Barry Lundgren - wood turning (#60)
Sheri Klein - fused glass (#57)
Rebecca Wamsley - ceramics (#70)
Leigh Ramirez - silver jewelry (#65)
*** PART 2 ***
(for folks eager for more art and comfortable walking)
- Drive to Los Osos (~20 minutes)
- Meet at Caliwala Bakery to fuel ourselves with a pastry and coffee before our studio crawl. Bakery address: 1229 3rd St, Los Osos
- Visit 4 studios, a short walk from each other:
Carol Paulsen - variety of paintings and sculpture (#104)
Jessica Winter-Strom - abstract fluid art (#112)
Jan French - design-y colorful landscapes (#89)
Liz Moore - coastal watercolors (#103)
(The total walking distance from the bakery to the final studio is about 0.8 miles one way.)
