📽️ Classic Cartoon Film Night - 'RB Special' The Return of The King (1980)

The Return of the King is an Animated Fantasy film, adapted by J.R.R. Tolkien's last book of the epic trilogy of 'The Lord of The Rings' (1955). It's directed and produced by Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass and animated by Japanese studio Topcraft who also did The Last Unicorn and The Hobbit.

RB special means that its a combination of the Hobbit-LOTR Trilogy produced by Rankin and Bass (The Hobbit and Return of the King) AND Ralph Bakshi (Lord of the Rings - combining Fellowship and the Two Towers)

Synopsis
Two Hobbits struggle to destroy the Ring in Mount Doom while their friends desperately fight evil Lord Sauron's forces in a final battle.
