Rattlesnake Gulch Loop-plus, hike at El Dorado Canyon

Beautiful, highly rated trail with stunning views and the old Crags Hotel site.

AllTrails shows this at 3.7 miles with 960 feet of elevation gain. But we're going to add a few extras that will up the mileage hopefully closer to 5. That includes a peek at the train tunnel just off the trail, and a detour to another overlook not on the AllTrails route.

Please bring microspikes. A lot of this trail is shady and tends to be icy.

After, let's refuel at Flats Beer Garden - that odd little place between Boulder & Arvada on 93. Hopefully it'll be nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the view! Address is 11229 CO-93.
