About us
Afraid, Angry, or Overwhelmed by the News?
Let’s unite and turn that around!
Drawing on tools from Marshall Rosenberg and Byron Katie, we practice skills to enjoy heart-to-heart connection with people across differences of outlook and opinion.
This is a friendly, interactive workshop to help restore your peace of mind and strengthen your ability to contribute to positive change.
What the group is about and what we will do at your events:
The group is for developing skills and consciousness to find peace of mind amidst our current political climate and to connect in friendly, loving ways with people on opposite sides of the political spectrum. It is also to help us learn to speak our concerns in powerful and effective ways.
Who should join the group?
The group is open to anyone who wants to develop more harmonious communication with someone they disagree with.
Some events are designated specifically for people who identify with the right or left sides of the political spectrum -- to make it easier to practice the beginning skills in an emotionally safe container. Eventually I hope to schedule events that are "co-ed," where liberal and conservative participants can enjoy meeting together.
Any dues or fees?
As the group leader, this is part of how I make my living. I request donations for particular events. However I understand that not everyone has the financial abundance to made a monetary donation, and in the spirit of joyful giving and receiving, no one is turned away for lack of funds.
The group's affiliation, if it's associated with a business or organization:
My business, a sole proprietorship, is called Carlyle Stewart, LCMHC.
