About us

Have an interesting story to tell? Are you interested in the stories of others?

One of the best things anyone can do is write their own story. If they have really lived, they indeed have a story to tell. Anybody that can tell a story can write a book. Just write the story. The story of your own life.
- from my interview of Doug Peacock, author and the real life person on whom Edward Abbey based George Washington Hayduke in The Monkey Wrench Gang annd Hayduke Lives!

They say that there are only two stories worth telling. A protagonist goes on a journey and a stranger comes to town. A good story has an edge to it, somewhere where something unpredictable might happen, where failure in some sense is possible. Where the protagonist may not survive. Or, if they do survive, may survive transformed in some significant way -- Joseph Campbell's hero's journey.

If you are living a life interesting to you -- if you have a passion about something, anything. It doesn't necessarily have to be that interesting to anyone else, but something that gives you a spring to your step, that brings passion to your life, consider joining our dinner club and share with us what life is teaching you, or trying to teach you.

Restaurants where we can meet are open to suggestions. Somewhere with either a private room or a nook that is somewhat secluded. And good food. And a liquor license. Liquor liberates the tongue.

And if you are a listener not a talker, you are welcome too! It is always great to have an audience and who knows, you may someday tell us your story too.
