First Fall Hike of 2018- Eaton Canyon Waterfalls
Hi everyone! Its been a while since I've hiked and I've been looking forward in hiking again with new and previous hikers that I couldn't help myself to post a upcoming hiking event for this year. We will start our hiking events with an easy hike to Eaton Canyon Waterfall. If you haven't been here, its an easy 3.0 mile hike to and from the destination. It will probably take us around 2-3.5 hours to hike it, which will lead us to come before 12 noon. What to expect: Even though this might be an easy hike, you have to climb over boulders and cross over streams. Be warned, please wear shoes that you wouldn't mind getting wet! You could bring a hiking/trail stick but its not necessary. Like any trails there are wildlife around, so when you see a snake please do not touch or get close to it. They're just trying to get across the trail. I follow the no one left behind policy. If you need a break, we will take it. Like some of you, I haven't hiked since the beginning of this year and I will be a little rusty for the most part. So, patience is the key. Also, if you need to leave early for some reason, please let me or someone in the group know. I like to keep track of the participants so I won't lose anyone of you. Like every hike we eat afterwards. I am open to any suggestions and will happily eat anywhere. :) What you need to wear and bring: Please wear comfortable "workout clothes"- i.e. jogging pants/shorts, comfortable shirts, and most important a pair of rubber shoes with traction. Its also important to put on sunblock/sunscreen, and/or a hat. Even though there are some shading available the majority of the hike is out in the sun. The most important thing to bring is water. Even though you might not feel thirsty, its very vital to replenish your water in your body. Remember: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. There are restrooms in the nature center and portable restrooms in the beginning of the hike, but none throughout so be prepared. Well, as always, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. See you all then!!
