Astoria Philosophy Book Club- The Republic by Plato- Book 1 Week 1

Hi everyone and hope you're all doing well! Due to the holiday weekend coming up and a busy work schedule on my part, I decided it'd be best to start The Republic instead of continuing the dialogue with Protagoras. Apologies to any who were looking forward to finishing it, we might get another chance in the future :)

With that being said, I'm happy to share that on September 7th we'll be discussing Book I of Plato's Republic together! I will be using the G.M.A Grube translation published my Hackett Classics but please feel free to use any translation that you feel most comfortable with.

The plan as of right now is to meet every other week to dscuss a new Book of The Republic until we are finished. A reminder, we do our best to keep discussions beginner friendly so all amateur philosophers and curious minds are welcome!
