Discourse on the Method: René Descartes
Details
Hi Philosophers,
I'm back and I hope you're all ready to get started reading again! At the end of the month we'll be reading Discourse on the Method by René Descartes followed by another discussion on his work Meditations later in April. Descartes is considered by many to be the father of "Modern Philosophy", a time period in philosophy spanning from the early 17th to 20th centuries and characterized by the rise of broad schools of empiricism and rationalism. He's a great place to start for any of you interested in reading Spinoza, Hume, Locke, and Kant one day, but whom I find much more approachable and fun!
