The US economy is slowing down and pundits expect that it
will continue to shrink in 2020. The Trade War with China has
caused strain in the world of manufacturing and consumer
spending and investors are worried about future growth. Some
sectors have already seen recession in 2019. With much of our
manufacturing overseas, the economy relies heavily on
consumer spending and that too is beginning to falter.
President Trump is counting on growth and the economy to
promote his bid for re-election in 2020 and to offset the
determination of the Democrats on their impeachment efforts.
During the Clinton impeachment, the stock market grew, job
growth improved, and consumers were confident. So, we might
expect that Trump’s biggest obstacle is the economy but
Trump supporter’s are beginning to blame Democrats for the
consequences of their impeachment efforts while ignoring his
trade policies. "They are willing to plunge the whole country
and people’s lives into turmoil through impeachment talk, all
because of their hatred of @realDonaldTrump."
