About us
Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Atheists!
The mission of the Rocky Mountain Atheists (RMA) is to be a safe and supportive secular community dedicated to serving society; to support those who have been marginalized or traumatized as a result of faith-based beliefs; and to provide and promote evidence-based learning opportunities.
RMA is so much more than a Meetup group! We typically host about 10 events per month, most of them free. Our activities include social gatherings, peer support, community service, and educational activities. If you would like to learn more about our organization, please visit us at https://rockymountainatheists.ca/
If you are not an RMA member, please consider becoming one (it's only $24.99/year) or donating to help cover costs (Meetup fees, website, Zoom, etc.). Every little bit helps! Click this link (membership) to join or click this link (donate) to donate. Thank you for your support!
A note about respectful behaviour:
We are an inclusive community of atheists, humanists, skeptics and secular freethinkers who welcome people of all backgrounds and identities.
We won't all agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for disrespectful behaviour. Disagreements should be resolved in a constructive manner and without personal attacks. Challenge ideas, not people. Do not insult or put down other participants. Harassment and other exclusionary behaviour aren’t acceptable.

·OnlineOnlineWeCanReason Webinar - Making America Hurt Again? The dark rise of medical disinformation with David Robert Grimes
While modern medical science has enabled us to live longer healthier lives, the incredible gains in life expectancy and quality seen around the world over the last century are not just plateauing, but threatening to actively reverse. Social media is dominated by medical misinformation on everything from sunscreen to vaccines to cancer, with a cost measurable in human lives. And America, once a leader in healthcare research, has the dark ascendancy of the MAHA movement and their quest to undo decades of public health. How did we get here, and where are we going? Join Prof David Robert Grimes as we explore why we fall for medical fictions, and how we arrived at this strange point in history
