What we’re about
Welcome to Atheist Community of Colorado Springs! We are about Reason-Community-Friends. We are about giving back to the community, not taking from it. We are about doing good without a god and not just talking about it. We provide a safe landing place for those recovering from religion. We are about educating the community about secularism and championing the atheist movement. We volunteer hundreds of hours a year to promote atheist humanity in our community. Join us. What we are not about: We are not about making money off the community. We will never be associated with for profit business that doesn't give back to the community or puts itself over the community. We are not for everyone... we do not cross post other groups' events that do not align with our founding principles. There are no dues or fees to belong to ACCS. If you are prompted for a donation, that is Meetup.com, not ACCS. You may ignore it without the slightest bit of guilt.
Who we are: We are a group of like-minded atheists that promote community first. We attract a large amount of younger and active members. We are a great place for social networking. We support and work with the LGBT and Feminists communities. Some of us are Humanist, Freethinkers, Skeptics and Agnostics. We have a full calendar of events including potluck socials, night life, volunteerism and meetings with various speakers. Some other examples of events on our calendar are karaoke, hikes, music concerts, secular bible study, bowling, RPG game night, Science on Tap, Cafe' Scientifique, Atheist Guardians of Palmer Park, local college lectures, activism, group meetings, atheist open mic night, poker night, movie night, Waldo Canyon and Black Forest Fire mitigation projects, adopt-a-road and atheist book club. Many of our events are also listed as "kid friendly".
