• San Fernando Valley West - 3rd Thursday

    Needs a location

ATTENTION: We will meet at The Corner Bakery at 6100 N Topanga Canyon Blvd #1330. This is the opposite side of the same mall we were meeting at. From Topanga go East on Erwin and enter the parking lot. The Corner Bakery is straight ahead and a little to the right. TOPIC FOR THIS MEETING: We will dish out dirt against Scientology. Bring your stories. We will gab about what they believe, scandals new and old. Will their tv network get them new members or are they already toast? Meeting format: The San Fernando Valley Atheist Meetup is a place for atheists to meet, have dinner with, and talk to other atheists. So you can come at 6:45 and eat and make friends then at 7:15 enjoy the discussion. A few agnostics and religious people sometimes show up as well and they are welcome as long as they are not there to proselytize. For a long time we have had the group discuss an atheist related topic each month and select a new topic for the following month. We are looking for ways to have a greater variety of activities at our meetup. First we need some ideas so please post some. The meetup is sponsored by Atheists United. Check out their website at atheistsunited.org (http://www.atheistsunited.org/)

  • San Fernando Valley East - 1st Monday

    Robin Hood Pub

Meet with fellow Humanists/Agnostics/Atheists/etc., have dinner, and share your experiences/ideas/concerns of living in today's world. Food/Drink are optional, but we always like to patronize our host, since they don't charge us for the space. And it’s great "comfort-food" with a full bar, and several on-tap selections. Please bring a favorite or "hot" topic to discuss, or any research you have been doing. The Moderator presents a couple of topics throughout the meeting, but the spin-off discussions are always informative and robust! Feel free to post your ideas/questions/concerns in the chat below. We're always open to new members and persons of widely varying viewpoints. But we mandate courtesy and respect to fellow attendees, and no proselytizing. Foremost, this is a social gathering, and support group for like-minded persons, not a debate club. If you're coming just to argue, don't bother, you're not going to convert anyone. The meetup is sponsored by Atheists United (http://www.atheistsunited.org/). First-time attendees are eligible to receive a free 3 month subscription to the Atheists United newsletter! This meetup will also have attendees from our sister organization https://www.meetup.com/atheists-united/
