Atheist Book Club - Wednesday 8/13

Kim and the other Atheists of WNC invite you to sit in and enjoy the Atheist Book Club. The next meeting is Wednesday August 13, 6:30 p.m. at Standard Pizza, 755 Biltmore Avenue in Asheville. (FYI they have a good pizza menu and good reviews.)

We would like to keep each meeting to a max of 10 people, because more than that gets kind of uneieldy. Please RSVP if you do plan to come.

Hang out with some nice people who are not religious. Chat about books on a variety of topics, such as Science, Religion, etc. You are not obligated to read the book, but if you can or can read a summary of it, you may enjoy the conversation more.

We're currently reading a popular book about Science called The Canon by Natalie Angier. It's a very enoyable - almost conversational - look at what science is, the scientific method, with chapters about biology, astromony, geology etc. (You can buy it new or used via Amazon; the library system has several copies too.) Read through chapter 5 if poissible. It's easy-going.
