We love our outdoor volleyball … but it is hard to beat the pool on what is supposed to be a warm end-of-summer evening.

So, let's combine the two!

Come play a little more casual brand of volleyball in your bare piggies. (I will have two nets set up in totally non-regulation sized courts). No shoes allowed… shirts optional. Bonus ‘Muligan’ on a bad serve by those showing off in their bathing suits.

We'll bring out the glow in the dark volleyball, and we’ll try to rig up some work lights off to play a little bit into dusk as well.

And of course, before, after, or in between, take a quick dip in the pool as it is still cranking at 90 degrees. We will also have the firepit going for those who just want to kick their feet up.

We will throw some burgers and hot dogs on the grill, and have some chips and salsa, crackers and cheese. If you wish to partake, just chip in $5.00. Venmo ahead of time preferred to @Alec-MeetUp - confirmation digits 6052. Put 'Pool Dip' in the subject.

We'll have bottled water and soda. BYOB for alcohol . Def bring your bathing suit, and a towel, because you will be tempted.

Kids under 12 are absolutely welcome, but not for the v-ball. We’re going to try to play semi-serious still. Please indicate kids as guests.

Let’s Get In One Last Summer Outdoor Dancing Night!

Dock Brown's Beach Bar on the Lake during the summer under the dancing tent is one of our favorite jams every year. The Fridges bring that full band sound and energy on top. Band plays from 7 to 10 sharp. Last big band of the season for Docks, so it should be hopping. I will get there around 6:30 to socialize.

When you need a little break from working up a sweat on the dance floor... they have some great places to sit by the lake to soak up the breeze and the view. Plus a super reasonable burger, hot dog, and fries food truck. (cards only for truck).

This will be a loosely organized meetup in that we will not reserve a table. If you are new to the group: we are easy to find and very friendly! We are usually the group laughing the loudest, and dancing the hardest.

While we love the ADKs, sometimes we like to swing down south to the Catskills too!

This will be a great hike with a beautiful waterfall and a bunch of overlooks, including former sites of several grand hotels! Conditions permitting, we will view the waterfall at the middle, top and bottom. Following that we will get in some distance and cardio by looping around North/South lake. (There is a return juncture at the 3.0-mile mark after the falls, for those who do not feel like doing the 4.0 mile loop second part)

This hike is considered moderate but we will be strive to go at a healthy pace. It will be about 7 miles in length with some elevation gain (more if you want do the six stories of steps down to the bottom of the falls and back up).

If you chose to attend this hike you MUST be physically fit enough to complete it at an intermediate pace!! Ninety-percent of the trail is not very technical. But there are a few moderate rock scrambles on the second part, and the stairs to the bottom of the falls do not have railings.

There are multiple trailheads. But we will meet at the South Lake Parking Lot, which is in the park itself. [Note, you will go PAST the Scutt Road Trailhead, and PAST the booth for the campgrounds, (closed) so just keep driving.]. Follow the signs to South Lake.

We will meet at the South Lake Swimming Area’s parking lot at 10:45 am and leave for the hike at 11:00 am sharp.

PLEASE BRING: Water (or Coca-Cola) and snacks. Wear multiple non-cotton layers. Waterproof hiking shoes or boots are a must. Although not forecast at this point… be prepared for rain, with a rain poncho or waterproof jacket outer layer. The ground will be wet and muddy in spots as run off flows down the trail in many spots ... so an extra pair of socks is recommended. Not sure if the lakes will still be ‘open’, but I plan to bring a towel and take the plunge at the end.

We'll likely find a spot for a bite afterwards in Catskill for those interested.
