What we’re about
Making the web a better place for everyone.
This is a group for anyone interested in web accessibility (A11Y). Whether you're a UX designer, developer, project manager, or are simply curious about the value and impact web accessibility can have on your products and our community, we hope you'll join us.
A11Y Atlanta meets monthly to learn from seasoned professionals, network with local practitioners and share knowledge about this growing discipline. We'll focus our efforts on increasing education, sharing best practices, and generating awareness about the importance of accessibility and universal design.
Join us. Let's build a better web.

See all- Help Audit Non Profit Websites for AccessibilityNeeds location
Hello, Accessibility Atlanta Team. We have another great opportunity to provide accessibility auditing and coaching at the 48in48 Social48in48 Global Event, October 3-5, 2025.
Join hundreds of developers, designers, and digital content specialists who will come together and spend 48 hours building 48 websites for 48 deserving nonprofits. (That's an impressive goal, and we need your help to make it a reality.)
This is a hybrid event (virtual and on-site in Atlanta), so you can sign up on the 48in48 website to join us from the comfort of your home OR to hang out with us in person!
Here's the role we'll play: Between 12:00 PM EST and 8:00 PM EST on Saturday and again from 9:00 AM EST to 3:00 PM EST on Sunday, we'll provide accessibility reviews and remediation recommendations to the project/design teams as they complete their website builds. A special Slack channel will be set up for us through which we'll schedule review sessions and host office hours to provide accessibility coaching.
To keep things simple, we will focus our reviews on a minimal number of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.x items. This will keep things understandable and actionable for project teams that may have limited (or zero) exposure to accessibility compliance before the event. It's a fantastic way to introduce people to the topic and to positively affect websites designed to support communities in need.
Please join us for this fun and impactful weekend. We need at least 20 volunteers to make it happen. We'll provide logistics for in-person participants and schedule a virtual kickoff call as the date draws closer.
