Let's go see some shows! This is a group for going to local punk shows and anything else that's rad. All activities posted here are in-person events.
Pretty broad use of the word "punk" here and will include some events that are only tangentially related (like maybe a reggae show) or totally unrelated (like monster truck rallies 😂). But the main focus will be on local and DIY stuff, small venues, house parties, and the like. Trying to make real connections, so I'm keeping it small. No arena shows or corporate cash grabs like Riot Fest or Sad Summer. Most shows posted here will be under $20. More than that and they'd better be a living legend, for real.
Never heard of these bands? Dude, me neither. But this is how you find your new favorite band! Just show up and see what happens. Hey, y'all, here's one of those non-punk events I do every now and then.
I couldn't find a job, so I started my own company as a tour guide. Before I take on any paying customers, I want to do a test run of a couple of tours. First one up is the BuHi Food Tour, where we try a range of Latin, Asian, African, and Caribbean dishes. I've got eight locations picked out, but I want to whittle it down to six after the tour. So I need everyone's opinion on what absolutely must stay and what to cut.
We'll be sharing a bunch of small dishes. Come hungry, but pace yourself! Don't fill up at the first stop. We'll start at Biswas Grocery and Cafe and continue north, ending at White Windmill.
If anyone I know in real life wants a ride, I can fit seven people in my van. (if we haven't met before, you'll have to sort out your own ride).
We'll meet at Biswas at 12:00. Anyone riding with me, I'll pick you up somewhere central around 11:30.
This is a joint event with Atlanta Horror Junk. If you're in both groups, you only need to RSVP once!
I'm limiting attendance to 8 people per group and allowing each person to bring only 1 guest (please rsvp for 2 if you're bringing a friend). We won't have reservations at any of these stops, so I'm trying not to let the group get too big. If you reserve and then find out you can't make it, please update your rsvp in case someone else would like to join in your place.
