Palladium Printing

Details

Palladium printing is a traditional photographic process from the 19th century. Even in the modern age of digital photography, palladium has exceptional tonal range and archival permanence.

We will cover the entire process, from coating the paper, exposing with ultraviolet light, developing and clearing the salts. The final print will consist of pure palladium on fine art paper. Due to cost factors, prints will only go up to 4x5 inches in size.

Topics we’ll be covering:

  • Digital Negative Preparation
  • Coating of fine art paper
  • Chemical Contrast Controls
  • Proper development and clearing procedures

What you need to bring:

  • A digital image or scanned negative
  • Gloves
  • Note taking device
