Portrait Studio Photography
Whether you are receiving a new camera over the holidays or have been shooting for some time, you may have an interest in studio portrait photography. This 4-week in-depth course will go over the process and equipment used in a studio. During the class, we will go over a variety of lighting setups and explain the terminology and theory. We’ll also show common mistakes and how to avoid them. Only six slots are available for this class. You will need a digital SLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses and a hot shoe mount. Topics we’ll be covering: - Lighting Setups - Lighting equipment, gels, and modifiers - Inverse square law - Exposure triangle - Proper handling of studio gear - Selecting lenses and camera settings - Backdrops and seamless paper - Posing people - Theory and terminology - Common pitfalls and mistakes

    What we're about

    The Photographers Studio is an educational and cultural nonprofit dedicated to photography. We provide a resource for photographers of all levels: students, working artists, professional photographers, educators and photo-enthusiasts. The center provides affordable studio and classroom space, as well as printing, film scanning, photographic education and guidance. Our goal is to build a community where photo enthusiasts can come together to learn, create, discuss and show their work.
