Taylor Gerring, Director of Technology at Ethereum - Intro to Ethereum
Details
Tarylor Gerring, Director of Technology at Ethereum, will be giving a presentation introducing ethereum (http://ethereum.org/): a "blockchain app platform." Whereas Bitcoin provides some limited ability to create "smart contracts," or applications that run on the blockchain, Ethereum provides a full programming language with unlimited potential. Digital currencies, autonomous agents and organizations, and many other systems are possible.
A list of some of the applications being developed can be seen here (http://dapps.ethercasts.com/), and includes everything from other currencies, to decentralized chat apps, to prediction markets.
This event is being jointly hosted by this group and two blockchain technology based meetups in the Atlanta area:
Bitcoin Atlanta (https://www.meetup.com/Bitcoin-Atlanta/)
and
Atlanta Ethereum Enthusiasts (https://www.meetup.com/Atlanta-Ethereum-Enthusiasts/)
The event will be held upstairs at The Garage near Tech Square. The presentation will be a webcast, but we'll be able to ask questions to Taylor.
Special thanks to http://www.paretosg.com/ for providing beer and pizza!

Currently looking for people to sign up for lightning talk to go over top entries on:
https://coinmarketcap.com/
Going over what it is, and what interesting things that make it stand out from the rest. I'm also looking for people to give talks on blockchains in industry.
Please message me if you are interested in presenting any of the above topics, * or your own *. Also looking for people to host blockchain workshops.
