DESCRIPTION:
This is a Developer 102 Bitcoin and Blockchain class. Beginners are welcomed!
We will have varied levels of difficulty based on the attendees technical competence.
Even if you don’t know how to code we will still have options for you to participate.
Each participant will be required to complete certain tasks in order receive a certificate of completion. This certificate will be verifiable on the Bitcoin blockchain.
This meetup will run from 10AM – 3PM and will break for lunch between 11:30 AM and 1 PM. Please note that lunch IS NOT included in class fees.
GOALS:
Understand RPC calls and how to configure a Bitcoin Node
Create and broadcast a transaction on Testnet3 and include an OP_RETURN
Setup LND on Bitcoin node and configure it for use
Connect to other attendees nodes, open up channels, send payments, and create invoices.
OUTLINE:
Cover Attendees Registration Questions
Understanding what Bitcoin Nodes are and how they work
SSH into Bitcoin Node and play around with the environment
Understanding Bitcoin Transactions
Creating a Bitcoin Address p2pkh
Create a transaction and get the Raw Tx Data
Using your Bitcoin Node broadcast this raw data to the network.
Understanding scale of the network with some facts and figures
Setting up LND
Using LND amongst attendees
Using Chainpoint network complete a certificate of completion which includes instructors signature.
Please NOTE:
We may NOT get to all the material listed in the outline. We can cover these things at a high level. We will be able to go as fast as the class provides. Groups and overall team work is encouraged granted the interactive nature of this workshop.

laptop, paper/pen, smartphone. Extension power cable is a plus.

When you get on Lenox Road you will want to take the middle ramp up then turn into Monarch Tower where there is a guest parking deck.
