**“Death Awareness: Contemplating the Inevitability of our Death”**
with \*\*Brehan Corveau (\*\*End-of-Life Doula)

You may have heard of a birthing doula, but an end-of-life doula is likely a new concept for most. In our gathering you’ll learn about the role and benefits of working with an End-of-Life Doula as I highlight topics like home-based funerals, bedside vigil plans, and documenting your end-of-life wishes.

We'll also gently explore our vulnerability and the inevitability of death using **The Nine Contemplations** as a guide. This practice was explored by Atisha, an 11th century Buddhist scholar, and again by social activist Roshi Joan Halifax. These contemplations are meant to arouse awareness as we reflect on (and challenge) how we are living our life.

**BIO:**
Brehan Corveau (she/her) is an End-of-Life Doula and deathcare educator with an interest in companioning the living. Her interest stems from her desire to assist others in actualizing their end-of-life wishes by promoting open and honest conversations about living, death, dying, and other life transitions. She is a volunteer at Providence with the No One Dies Alone Program and with Hospice of Anchorage.

Brehan has practiced in the field of public health for over 20 years
