“Introduction to the Enneagram”
with John Stabb

John is a long time friend of ATOM who was introduced to the Enneagram back in the late 90’s, by his daughter, Ingrid Stabb,
who is the author of two popular books on the subject.
He subsequently studied Spiritual Dimensions of the Enneagram
with author Sandra Maitri. Typical for a SEVEN, John has successfully pursued multiple career paths over the years.
He currently works as a substitute teacher in the Anchorage
and Castro Valley, CA school districts.

The Enneagram has truly entered the realm of pop psychology. Google it and you’ll find numerous offers of a “free” test
that will reveal your enneatype and you’ll finally know
what makes you tick. Well, it’s not that simple. Nothing is.
Where did the Enneagram come from? How valid is it? And what
are the nine personality types? Which one are you?

John will discuss the murky origins of the Enneagram. It’s arrival
on the scene in 70’s Berkeley at the height of the human potential movement. The intellectual property lawsuit that still haunts it's proponents today. He’ll also discuss the nine personality types and how knowing about them has been helpful to him on his journey.
