Bio:
Theresa Brown graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in
Psychology and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
She fell in love with a holistic approach to healing, gardening,
and nutritional food in her 20’s when she moved to Alaska.
For 8 years, she coordinated the Bioneers of Alaska conference,
a 3 day conference that works toward progressive and visionary solutions for our environmental issues. She organized and
got certified in the first Permaculture Design Certification Course
in Alaska in 2012. She went on to organize three more certification courses as well as co-start the Anchorage Permaculture Guild in 2010 and Anchor Gardens Network in 2020. She went back to school
to study Ayurveda Medicine and became a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2019. She became a market gardener in 2020
growing organic medicinal and edible produce for Anchorage markets using permaculture practices. She created a business, AyurLife Care, that makes 100% organic, locally grown Ayurvedic products which she sells at the Anchorage Markets year round. She also offers Ayurvedic consultations by appointment only. She is the Organic Gardening Coordinator for Yarducopia/Alaska Community Action on Toxics
and the Network Coordinator for Anchor Gardens.
Her passion is creating circular economies in Anchorage that are regenerative, holistic, and beneficial to our environment and people.
