What we’re about
When Attachment Theory was first introduced in the last century, researchers identified four distinct Attachment Styles to describe how children related emotionally and behaviorally to their caregivers.
Later studies deepened this understanding: much like DNA encodes the blueprint for how our bodies replicate at the cellular level, our Attachment Style encodes the blueprint for how we replicate relational dynamics. The ways we bonded with our caregivers in childhood --and other intense and repeated relationship experiences-- are often replayed unconsciously in the psycho-social, emotional, and behavioral qualities of our adult relationships.
The encouraging news is that, unlike DNA, our Attachment Style is not fixed. With increased awareness, new skills and intentional practice, we can revise our attachment styles, move toward secure attachment, and create healthier, more balanced and fulfilling relationships with ourselves and others.
Each [MeetUp.com](http://meetup.com/) event hosted by the Attachment Pathway will explore one of the many elements of Attachment Styles in a group format and will host questions and answers at the end.
