About us

Women who have spent years taking care of everyone else. Now it’s your turn.

Many of us reach midlife having built full lives with relationships, families, careers, friendships, hobbies, community engagements, and responsibilities.

We are compassionate, dependable, and often the person everyone relies on to get done what needs to be done.

But after years of attending to other people’s needs, some of us begin to feel exhausted and too disconnected from ourselves to even recognize what we want, or need, for ourselves now.

We know where, when, why, and who we need to be for someone else — or everyone else. We know who needs a ride, a call, a reminder, a favor, a calm voice, or a solution.

But what about us?

Do you know what you want, right now?

What do you need today?

What would feel true to say out loud right now to a close friend?

Somewhere along the way, we quit checking in with ourselves.

Attuned to Self is a Meetup group for women who are ready to begin paying attention to themselves, too.

The goal is not to stop caring for others. It is to stop disappearing from your own life.

What We Explore

*identity and purpose beyond the roles you fill

*emotional needs and self-trust

*burnout, exhaustion, and over-giving

*familiar self-care and relationship patterns

*boundaries and honest communication

*becoming someone you can rely on, too

Our focus is simple: we start with the relationship we have with ourselves.

The relationship you have with yourself did not form in isolation. We use attachment theory and practical work with emotional needs, boundaries, and communication to understand how that relationship developed — and how it can change.

You May Recognize Yourself Here If…

Many women arrive here after years of family dysfunction, codependency, chaos, over-functioning, over-explaining, self-criticism, emotional dysregulation, hyper-vigilance, or feeling conditioned to manage everyone else’s needs before their own.

Some identify with terms like adult child, ACA/ACOA, CPTSD, inner-child work, shadow work, or narcissistic relationship recovery.

You do not need to identify with any of those words to belong here. They are simply some of the doorways women come through on the way back to themselves.

What to Expect

Our online events are teaching and reflection conversations. Most include a short teaching, private reflection questions, and time for questions at the end.

You can participate in the chat, or simply listen and think through the questions privately. You are never required to share personal information.

This is not therapy or a support group session. If you are in a crisis, have something you’d rather ask privately, or you’re not sure if a group meeting is appropriate for you, you are welcome to message me, and we can talk about what might work best for you right now.

About Gina

I’m Gina Talent, the founder of Attuned to Self and a Certified Integrated Attachment Theory Coach.

I created Attuned to Self because this work is personal to me.

For much of my life, I knew how to adapt, survive, be strong, be useful, be responsible, and stay tuned in to what other people needed. What I did not always know was how to stay connected to myself.

Through my own work, I learned that secure attachment is not only about how I show up in relationships with other people. It is also about the relationship I have with myself.

I learned to notice my needs, trust what I knew, honor my limits, and build a life that included me. As I did that, my capacity to enjoy my life, be present, and still make a meaningful contribution has come together.

That is why I created this space for women who have spent years caring, helping, managing, and being what others needed, and who are now ready to begin including themselves.

My work focuses on the relationship women have with themselves, because every other relationship and every life decision is built from there.

Real Self. Real Love. Real Life.
