WHO?
We are a collective of Austin based Screenwriters. From first timers, to seasoned pros - all proficiency levels are welcomed.
Actors are highly encouraged to attend! Getting in the reps is a great way to get comfortable with table reads, while the writers gets to hear a performer recite their dialogue. A win-win.
WHAT?
A writers workshop designed to foster community, nurture talent, and help screenwriters refine their work.
At each workshop, up to 3 writers will have the opportunity to share up to 15 pages from their screenplay. Those pages will be read live, followed by a round a notes, and a Q/A session with fellow members of ATX SCREENWRITERS.
HOW IT WORKS?
It's $5 to reserve your spot, due by the Monday prior to the workshop, otherwise you will be moved to the waitlist and your seat will be up for grabs. This is required to cover the cost of the room and to encourage our members to honor their RSVP as space is limited. The $5 is non-refundable/transferable unless the workshop is cancelled. Any question, please reach out.
The first 3 writers to comment "pages" in the comment section below will reserve their spot in the upcoming workshop.
**Returning members will have priority **
WHEN?
We meet bi-weekly on Wednesday nights @ 7:00PM
WHERE?
FREDDO ATX. (Upstairs in the small room.)
WHY?
1. Tools to bring your writing to the next level.
2. Community
3. Accountability
Even if you don't have pages to be read, I would encourage you to come out and read, as you would be surprised by what you can learn simply by reading others work, and providing feedback.
I look forward to seeing you all there :)
***Due to limited space at the workshop, it is important that if you RSVP but cannot make it, be sure to change your RSVP prior to the day of the event. No shows will be removed from the group.***
*Writers note: Writers will be asked to upload up to 15 pages of your screenplay to a google drive that will be provided in the chat, so that everyone can read on together. Though it is digital, it's still a good idea to bring a couple printed copies.*
*Readers note: Remember to bring a laptop or i-pad, or even your phone to read from. I like to read the screenplays ahead of time so I can comprehend the story better and give more productive feedback*
