About us
In-person AI Safety Discussion group here in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Who's this for? Anyone and everyone curious about how AI systems might go wrong and what we can do about it :)
The idea is to build a community of people passionate about learning how to make sure AI + Society = a brighter future.
We run a 1-hour in-person session each month focused on:
- meeting like-minded people in the AI Safety space
- sharing learnings from articles and papers on different topics each week
- discussion and debate around the most important issues in AI
Structure:
- First session is a meet & greet. No reading required — just come along, introduce yourself, and enjoy the activities + discussion. Pizzas and music on arrival.
- How future sessions work: Each month we will suggest a topic (eg. AI Interperatability, AI Job Displacement, etc.) and a list of suggested resources (articles, papers, YouTube videos). The first half of the session is dedicated to sharing what you learnt in ~5 minutes with your group, and the rest of the time is devoted to discussion and networking.
If there's an appetite for speakers, we will organise those also
