How to build your own MCP powered GenAI Agents

Details

Hello dear members!

The Auckland AWS Tools and Programming team invites you to our July meetup!

This month, we're excited to welcome our special Aussie guest, Derek Bingham (Developer Advocate @AWS), who will be running a workshop for us.

How to build your own MCP powered GenAI Agents

Workshop Summary:
"In this workshop we will learn two ways to build AI Agents on AWS. We will learn how to create an agent with the Amazon Strands SDK that is model agnostic, creating a sample application as we go. We will also explore alternate ways we can create agents within Amazon Bedrock and how in each case we can connect to an MCP server and use its tools.

Don't know what some of these terms are? No problem! As we will also have a 20 min intro into everything you will do in the workshop. Hopefully see you there and DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR LAPTOP! 😉"

(You will benefit even by watching, so if you prefer not to participate actively, that’s perfectly fine).

Important information

  • Bring your laptop (not compulsory!)
  • Bring a valid ID with you, as our meetup is happening at the AWS offices and ID will be checked at reception.
