About us

Auckland Creative Writing Sprint Workshops is a focused writing group for people who want to get words moving again.

This group is for writers at any stage — from complete beginners to people working on novels, memoirs, scripts, poems, essays, short stories, games, or half-finished projects.

Each session is built around guided creative writing sprints. Kauri, the facilitator, will provide prompts, structure, and gentle guidance to help you get started, break through blocks, or reconnect with a project you’ve been avoiding.

You can begin from memory, lived experience, character, place, conflict, or whatever you’re already working on. The prompt is just a doorway — you’re free to follow it, bend it, or use the session to move your own writing forward.

These workshops are also a safe space to test your writing with an audience and receive immediate feedback. Sharing is always optional. You are welcome to read, discuss, listen, or simply write quietly alongside others.

Come along if you want:

-focused writing time
-practical prompts
-accountability without pressure
-feedback when you want it
-a supportive room of other writers
-help getting past writer’s block

The aim is simple: arrive with an idea, a block, a blank page, or a messy draft — and leave with something.
