Explore Atui Regional Park

Details

Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we Atui Regional Park, looking for Solomon's Bay.

🟔 Some words to Inspire you:
The morning air is soft and fragrant, laced with the scent of damp earth and the faint salt of Kaipara Harbour. Ātiu Creek Regional Park, nestled on the Okahukura Peninsula, unfurls like a quiet promise—its rolling pastures and regenerating native forest shimmering under the gentle spring sun.
Birdsong threads through the canopy: the fluting call of a tūī, the rustle of kererū wings, and the darting flick of piwakawaka tails. Fantails dance along the Ti Tree Point Track, leading you toward a lookout where the harbour stretches wide and still, its surface catching the light like brushed silver.
The trails wind through ancient stands of pÅ«riri and pōhutukawa, their gnarled limbs heavy with new growth. Beneath them, kānuka forest regenerates in soft green waves, and wetlands hum with life—white-faced herons stalking the shallows, fernbirds rustling in the reeds.
You pause at a carved pou kaitiaki, its weathered face watching over the land with quiet authority. Here, the stories of Te Uri o Hau and Ngāti Whātua linger in the soil and stone, whispered by the wind that moves through the ridges.
A picnic beneath a cypress grove offers a moment of stillness. The breeze carries the scent of wildflowers and distant sea. You sip tea, gaze out over Solomon’s Bay, and feel the hush of history and nature entwined.
Spring at Ātiu Creek is not loud—it’s lyrical. A place where time slows, and the land speaks in textures and tones. You leave with your boots muddied, your heart full, and the quiet conviction that you’ve touched something sacred.
