What we're about

A group for people interested in talking about and hacking on Kubernetes, Google’s solution for scheduling and orchestrating containers at scale.

We’re excited about microservices, containers, the distributions that run them and the solutions that deploy, manage, and extend them. Any skill level is welcome; we’re all new to Kubernetes and we want to create an open, welcoming environment for other Kubernauts.

Contact us if you are interested in speaking at or sponsoring this Meetup. We welcome content and demos.

Hacking Kubernetes

Needs a location

Hi all,

We're joining forces with our friends from Cloud Native Auckland in a joint event! Please save the date and join us.

We're very lucky to have the CEO of ControlPlane, Andrew Martin, in Auckland to share his wealth of knowledge on attacking and defending Kubernetes. Andrew co-wrote the book Hacking Kubernetes and will be sharing his insights into all things related to Kubernetes Security. Whether you're currently working with Kubernetes professionally or considering adopting it you won't want to miss this.

The second talk will be delivered by Joerg MIcheel, Senior Technology Consultant at OSS Group

Talk: Microsoft Azure Routing and Firewalls

Deployment of firewalls in the cloud inherently depends on maintaining control over routing in the cloud.
Azure has a particular mix of challenges when it comes to routing, which are compounded by a lack of decent documentation. This talk will provide practical insights into the inner workings of Azure Routing as well as experiences from customer deployment. The talk will make the case for the transition to cloud native security as the only practical means to scaling a cloud presence while maintaining security posture.

18:00 - 18:30 - Pizza and drinks
18:30 - 19:30 - Talks: Hacking Kubernetes plus an additional talk TBA
19:30 - 20:00 - Questions and discussion

Special thanks to Microsoft NZ for hosting us! We're looking forward to meeting you all there!
