I think we all have issues we care about but we don’t really talk about them in real life. Because we are civilised people who are taught to be friendly and polite in front of others. Some ideas conflict each other and we don’t want conflicts.
Let’s make comic zines, whatever on your mind you can put it on a A4 paper in an hour. Our goal is getting more people into making comics and telling their stories.
Why comics?
If you like movies you might think many mainstream movies these days are all about money and propaganda. There’s no soul in it. But if you watch carefully, you will notice how individuals trying their best to really do something and get their voice delivered. Though they can’t do too much cause they’re part of a big production team.
That’s why grassroot comics are so important. Individuals don’t need a production team and expensive education to tell their stories. I always find myself having more enjoyment reading a good story instead of getting bombarded by vfx. If more people start reading and making grassroot comics, it will help movie industry too.
I will be on the second floor (top floor) of Central City Library (the open space connecting to the escalator) teaching making comic zine every other Saturday.
Our schedule:
1:30 - 1:50 A simple lecture
1:50 - 3:10 Zine making
3:10 - 3:30 Group zine review
You don’t need any drawing skills just bring yourself.
I’m a short non-binary Asian woman with a bob hair cut who always wears black choker, black suspenders and black fingerless gloves, very hard to miss.
⚠️Be unfriendly and impolite to the issues you are fighting for. Don’t attack people. There’s the good, the bad and the ugly in everyone. We tell our stories to help understand each other so we can cooperate and solve problems. Earth’s fate is on everyone’s hands. 💖💖💖🦸🏽🦹🏼♀️🦸🏻♀️🦹🏾♂️🦸🏼♂️🦹🏻🦸🏿🧌💖💖💖
