**Please be realistic about your level of fitness - this trip up to the summit is challenging physically, technically and mentally. If not sure about joining the trip, please message organisers before booking the camphouse. Rated 5 on our 1-5 difficulty rating - not for beginners.
**Please provide clear answers to ALL RSVP questions. The only acceptable answer to each question is “Yes”. This event is only open to people who have done 3 grade three hikes with Auckland Outdoors.

Fri 30 th Jan: Drive to the camphouse. https://goo.gl/maps/chVK8aRQ4582
Need to arrive by 3pm for a briefing. Then time to chill before heading into New Plymouth at 5.30pm for an early dinner at The Good Home. 21 Aritiki Street, New Plymouth. This is optional - if you prefer to stay at the camphouse bring your own dinner to eat.
Sat 31st Jan: 5.45 am Walking up to the summit and back down the same way. Difficulty level: 5 out of 5. There are some challenging sections such as scree and steep ascents. 13km - could take us anything from 8 - 10 hrs. We will take some time at the top to enjoy the view while we eat lunch and take photos.
PM - Optional dinner at The Good Home after the hike and everyone has showered/changed.
Sun 1st Feb - Clean up camphouse and leave by 8.30am. Optional breakfast at Monica's Eatery, 42 Queen Street, New Plymouth. Decide on this with your driver / people in your car.
Optional short hike after breakfast.
Bring - you’ll need proper hiking gear and food/snacks for yourselves.
Suggest carpooling. Please comment when you RSVP whether you need a lift / can offer lifts, which part of Auckland and your mobile number. It’s up to you to arrange this among yourselves. Please bring $90 cash to give your drivers for petrol money. If you pull out within 1 week of the start of the trip and have already organised your carpooling you will still be required to pay your driver the petrol money.
Be sure to read all the details before you RSVP. If you can no longer attend please update your RSVP immediately to allow others to join. If you cancel within 3 days of the start of this trip or don't show this will be counted as a 'no show'. 3 no shows will affect your attendance at future events.
