West Harbour: Manutewhau Walkway & Lucken's Coastal Path

RSVPs will open on the 8th November.

A slightly easier hike than usual (2 on our 1 - 5 difficulty rating). Perfect if you are new to hiking or a regular who wants to enjoy some amazing views and discover hidden pockets of bush you didn't know about. Most of the tracks are well maintained concrete or gravel paths with a small amount of hill climbing involved. The paths in Moire Park can be a bit muddy especially after rain.

Walking Time - Approx 3.5hrs
Distance: approx. 12km

We will be walking a loop in the West Harbour area including Moire Park and Lucken's Coastal walkway.

Arrive before 9.00am at the end of Clearwater Cove. There are toilets at our starting point.

9.00am – start hiking Lucken's Coastal pathway to Moire Park and then on to the Manutewhau Walkway, before looping back and returning to West Harbour Marina. We will stop for a couple of breaks along the way.

1.00pm – approx. finish time (depends on the group)

No guests. If you have friends who would like to come get them to join Auckland Outdoors and RSVP.

Bring - Normal hiking gear - warm base layers like merino or thermal clothes on or in your pack in case of bad weather, a raincoat, strong footwear with great grip. No jeans!

Food - Bring your own lunch and enough water etc

Suggest carpooling. Please comment when you rsvp whether you need a lift / can offer lifts, which part of Auckland and your mobile number. It’s up to you to arrange this among yourselves. Bring $10 cash for your driver or make arrangements to pay them via direct bank transfer.

Be sure to read all the details before you RSVP. If you can no longer attend please update your RSVP immediately to allow other people to join? If you cancel at the last minute (i.e. night before or on the day) or don't turn up this will be treated as a 'no show'. 3 no shows will mean you cannot join a hike with the group for 6 months.
