Gidday All....Ni Hao Ma..Kia Ora.
Come along for a Saturday 23rd May Half Day Walking Adventure with your Walking Guide Big Stephen at Shakespear Regional Park at the tip of Whangaparoa Peninsula.
We will stop lots today and relax..Not suitable for fast paced members or anyone in a hurry.
We start off in a Bird Sanctuary that has a gated entrance we walk through alongside the Waterfall Gully Carpark entrance.
This is one of my favourite places on the North Shore for laid back leisurely walking over open farmland and small areas of bush and has fabulous views all day over the sea towards Tiritiri Matangi Island and others. Many native birds come here .
The walk through the Bird Sanctuary area is particularly beautiful to see huge old Puriri Trees And a Hidden Waterfall.
At night our native birds the Kiwi can be seen and heard here too.
Camping opportunities are here too for anyone interested another time. Plus white sand beaches.
We are walking over farmland...close to sheep here too..and lunch break is at the main beach...offering toilets and tables.
Or anyone keen on a quick swim.. yeah right..
Ideally suited for members keen on slowing down and looking around..taking photos..and chatting with other members.
A visit to Shakespear Regional Park on the Whangaparoa Peninsula is a beautiful Fun Day Walking Adventure.
A few short hills throughout the days activities, we stop lots to pause and chat about the things we see along the way.
ABOUT 3 hours walking..Ideally suited for beginners or nature connection people..
Carry everything you need to keep yourself happy outdoors and bring along your lunch and water and snacks.
Remember it's colder outside now so bring or wear a wool layer against your chest..Polyester tops are Ideally suited . On special at Kathmandu Shops. Dress like an onion..Wear layers to trap the air. A wool hat.or scarf is always helpful too.
If you're cold on the day when we stop to chat, it means you haven't prepared enough for Autumn and Winter Hiking.
We'll limit today's Memorable Walk to 25 Members .
If you’d like to learn something about the things we see along the way like trees and plants and birds etc...today's nature connection walking adventure is perfect for some curious minds.
Or just come to photograph.
Walk and Talk and Perhaps Meet Some New People.
Happy Walking Everyone.
