Let’s spend the final hours of 2025 together — walking, laughing, and welcoming 2026 from one of Auckland’s most iconic places.

Join Auckland Social Events for an unforgettable urban night walk to the summit of Mt Eden / Maungawhau, where we’ll ring in the New Year with fireworks, laser lights, music, and incredible city views — alongside friends old and new.

🌋 Why Mt Eden on New Year’s Eve?
Auckland’s highest volcano with a true bird’s-eye view
Direct views of the Sky Tower and Auckland Harbour Bridge.

A shared public celebration — vibrant, joyful, and electric
A perfect blend of movement, meaning, and togetherness.

From 9pm onwards, special light moments will shine on the Sky Tower, building toward midnight fireworks and a dazzling laser light show, synchronized to More FM 91.8 with the Top Songs of 2025.

Yes — I’ll bring my Bluetooth speaker so we can enjoy the soundtrack together 🎶.

🎉 The Plan

9:00pm – Meet & Greet in Mt Eden Village
Social time, photos, snacks, and dinner nearby if you arrive early.

Approx. 1-hour walk up to the summit
Aim to be seated by 10:30pm to secure a great viewing spot.

Relax, picnic, chat, and count down together to 2026.

After midnight, an easy walk back down via the road (approx. 30 mins).

📍 Meeting Point
9:00pm
Corner of Mt Eden Road & Stokes Road
Outside the vegetable shop, opposite Frasers Café.

👉 Arrive earlier if you’d like dinner or drinks — plenty of takeaway, cafés, and a public bar nearby.

🎒 What to Bring
Warm layers (it gets cool up high after midnight)
Food, snacks & water
A portable picnic chair or ground mat
Torch, headlamp, or phone light
Comfortable walking shoes
Optional hiking pole (helpful at night)
Carry everything in a small backpack or bags you can carry for an hour of street walking.

🚗 Getting There
No vehicles allowed on Mt Eden — walking only.

Use side-street parking off Stokes Road
Brightside Rd
Shipherd Ave
Marama Ave (via Epsom Ave)
Toilets available near the meeting point and on Mt Eden
Public transport to Mt Eden Village is encouraged.

Large crowds expected — we’ll move calmly and stick together
Adults welcome
No children
No dogs.
