Devonport Urban Walking Explore & More - Tunnels & Ice Creams & Swimming

Join us for some fun recreational outdoor friendly walking around Devonport and get up a few high places here, including Mt Victoria and later visit historical North Head...once used to defend Auckland...there's underground tunnels and rooms...and old guns...for an invasion that never happened...although later Japanese military records showed that a submarine was cruising along the North Shore beaches..and at night a small boat was landed on Cheltenham Beach..they only saw houses and left...Not seeing the City of Auckland around the corner...they went back to Australia and Aucklands defense systems were never used . They remain as history here and make good sense visiting .

There's also expansive views all over the Auckland Harbour to see Rangitoto and other islands.

We'll go through the old tunnels and see where the guns were hidden..Fascinating stuff for the whole family and friends that come here in the weekends...here's your opportunity on Monday Auckland Anniversary Day ..

Active Fit Children are Welcome and Parents .And other Members from Auckland Social Events.

We will visit Cheltenham Beach nearby and either relax here while others swim...or play some beach games or build sand castles..or watch the sailing boats in the inner Harbour out for Races.

Returning to the urban areas and green reserves..we will stop at the Home of North Shores Biggest Ice Creams..at Whites Dairy...before heading back to the Devonport Ferry Building which is our Location Destination Start and Finish.

For those interested we can grab a beer or perhaps buy Fish n Chips ..

Ideally suited for people looking forward to sharing quality time outside together, slowing down and looking around with Stephen, your quirky extroverted host and Kiwi hiking guide...We will aim to be finished walking around 3pm.

Meet and Greet is 10.30am.

In front of the Devonport Ferry Building and Green Reserve .

Bring along everything you need to keep yourself happy and comfortable; fed and hydrated and carry everything in a small backpack.

Togs and Towel for swimming options.

Small Headlight torch or Handheld...orvsomething similar to walk underground beneath North Head.

TRANSPORTATION CARPOOLING

Catch the Ferry over from Downtown Auckland.

Or add your Mobile number and Area where you live and contact each other. Give your Driver some money towards petrol or perhaps buy them an ice cream or a beer later.

No Dogs or Smokers today please.
